Has great synergy with Rapid Fire and Barrage on crowds of mobs. A new variation on a very old build, this one picks up some awesome synergies with Soulbeast, and is able to easily maintain permanent Fury and high Quickness uptime. In dragon stand I normally run a ton of active defense. Don’t even have to kneel. A basic Greatsword/Longbow build for any PvE Dungeon/Fractal. It carries significant health sustain and a giant reset button, as well as great personal damage, in-combat mobility, condition cleansing, and CC. Swapping will have benefits outside of just damage as well: Granting fury, breaking stun, and removing 1 condition. In shroud combo 5 + 4 for might. You can use any condi set as far as I know, but I had my dungeon armor on so eh, why not? or Signet of Courageprovide even more support. Gives perma fury, swiftness, 25x might, low CD strong heal, low CD stun break, almost always 100% crit chance. Only Shield skills are featured from core Engineer; the rest is Holosmith skills. But the Sword part of its damage potential has gotten a few buffs recently, and it has moved from satisfactory to excellent in performance. Deadeye [Rifle][Sword/Pistol] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). Hopefully you stayed in your clones’ line of fire to get the Might off of their attack. Power Soulbeast can support the Druid by bringing a Spirit to free up a utility slot. Boss rotations are still being developed, and you will be able to use a raid rotation when it is released. This build requires solid muscle memory as many of the skills can be easily cancelled. The required range threshold of this build for maximum damage potential is 900 with the utility skills, but using staff skills from 1200 range supplies the bulk of your damage. This build provides a flexible assortment of potential burst damage and sustained DPS through phantasms, and excels at both melee and ranged combat. Pick any Adept trait you want. It also provides excellent burst damage through the use of precision strike → drop elemental blast → burst of strength → equilibrium legend swap (also triggers hydro sigil damage) → impossible odds → sword auto attack → precision strike → repeat.Playing this build effectively relies heavily on you knowing your skills and traits completely inside and out. Let’s share our open world for funsies new specialization builds. Low CD heal and stun break. Sword mainhand has strong CC through it’s ambush skill but of course lacks condi damage, offhand pistol offers good CC through pistol 5, and torch offers condi cleanse on torch 4. Sigil of force and accuracy for weapons, armor rune power/precision kind. At this point I will only recommend key skills to focus on for general play: This build is best suited for lower pressure environments that allow you to freely DPS, but can be played anywhere with sufficient experience. You only need two pistols for this build, not three. This build features an incredible amount of defensive utility for your squad through consistent application of Aegis and frequent use of Shield of Courage. Sword/Sword – Greatsword – Dueling 131 / Domination 221/ Mirage 212 and False oasis, Sand through glass, Mirage advance (or signet of domination for stun), Signet of inspiration and Jaunt. Weaver [Sword/Dagger] (Curennos.9307/AlistoFrent). Gives me occasional 7k auto attacks without much might, and over 85% critical chance. In addition, the short range of steal only hasten the Thief's death. Scourge [Scepter/Torch][Staff] (Toast_Machine). Ranger is one of the most popular classes in Guild Wars 2, and it’s easy to see why. Spellbreaker is new and cool, but it’s like a wet noodle in the open world compared to its big, brooding older brother Berserker. Staff and Hammer. Scourge [Dagger/Warhorn][Axe/Focus] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). Although I’m sure this is not top DPS by far, it’s a very easy build to play, you basically are un-killable, constantly healing, you rarely have any conditions on you, and you buff your minions so they don’t die. The build or something very similar to it is about to be meta in some raids due to its extremely high DPS potential against large hitboxes. Moa Stance plays a big role here, providing you with boons and greatly increasing the duration of boons you get from other sources. This Daredevil build is a other damage variant of the Thief with around 35.1k DPS on small hitboxes. This build hasn’t changed much in quite a long time, and I pass it forward yet again. Was also relatively easy to solo bounty champions with it! Your first utility stunbreaks and evades (and is also a beautiful twirl!). Using stances for sweet damage ignoring, Strength spec for the might stacks and heal-on-application of might, and Dagger/Shield for CC when needed. This build is crafted to give you some breathing room. I considered runes of perplexity, but while in long fights confusion makes up to 50% of your damage, in shorter ones torment takes over, so I stuck with zerker runes. Greatsword/X: You will be using your Greatsword 90% of … With Sword/Sword, again in melee range, cast Illusionary Leap, then Blurred Frenzy simultaneously with Mind Wrack and Mantra of Pain. I use Death Magic, Blood Magic and top line Scourge traits to have the shades act supportive to your minions. . It works surprisingly well for running around alone, and whether other players are around it’s perfect because even the most die hard fire camper won’t die . When using Photon Forge skills, prioritize Corona Burst, then Photon Blitz, followed by autoattacks. Guardian is our favorite class. you can also camp LB for open world bosses and go afk. I opted for the Nightmare + Trapper’s combo, but feel free to experiment for yourself. I am unsure yet as to what sigils and runes to have, but since we are talking Open World, anything goes really. for fun you can LB 4 around other players. Go with Axe Mastery for your Grandmaster if you’re using an Axe, otherwise Burst Mastery tends to beat Heightened Focus due to HF’s 15 second internal cooldown. Power Holosmith. Name Description Longbow 1 Puncture Shot Fire an arrow which can bounce to the enemies behind your target. You can try Might Makes Right but in practice I feel it’s a bad fit: healing too weak, endurance only generates when you’re attacking, which is not when you (generally) need it. And things die relatively quickly. The elite is actually flexible, but you have 4 leap finishers handy that all daze in the “They gave Warriors a lightning field! Easy to play with great cleave and damage, this build represents the faceroll easymode aspect of the Warrior class in open world. Get 100% burn duration for free with Balth runes, sigil of smouldering, radiant fire trait, and meat chili. I recommend axe + pistol. Power Dragonhunter is a naturally bursty power class. Spellbreaker [Axe/Dagger][Greatsword] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). If you can survive for approximately 15 seconds in melee in the beginning of a fight, you can begin with the melee setup, then back off with Greatsword’s autoattack while you have three Swordsmen out. Daredevil [Pistol/Pistol][Staff] (hiberbeam). Possibly the weakest option out of any Elementalist weapon. I run full Berserker's with GS and Sc/F. The setup is focused on condi damage, but has a decent amount of power as well. Not as easy to survive with this build over the condi one because you don’t heal on dodge, but still pretty fun and comfortable to use. Firebrand. — Dragonhunter release notes. The stats are very flexible in where you want to get them. Power Dragonhunter. Lightning Surge when in Air or when swapping out of Air. In hindsight I probably should have used it on the [Eater of Souls] story fight, but outside of such niche fights boon strip is so much hot air. Cast Moa Stance every time it comes off cooldown, and notice that all four of these skills have multiples of 25 as their cooldowns; this causes them to line up very neatly. This build heavily relies on Retaliation to reach 100% Critical Chance and to get the modifier. Earth 2 also evades. Other skills, such as "Stand Your Ground!" Good luck! Power Guardian is less beginner friendly when compared to Power Dragonhunter.This is because you are required to have Aegis in order to benefit from the 20% modifier .Knowledge of the encounters is vital to ensure that you maintain Aegis.. Spellbreaker [Axe/Axe][Mace/Mace] (Symmaccus). You can reference it here for more information on trait line variations and sustained DPS rotations. In addition it brings very high defensive support for a DPS class, with a party wide block in Shield of Courage, a strong burst heal in Wings of Resolve, and the ability to bring Guardian utilities such as Wall of Reflection and Hallowed Ground. When you get to a boss, or anything tanky that you want to kill immediately, perform this burst combo: This is almost exactly the same as a raid build. Scourge [Dagger/Warhorn][Scepter/Torch] (Boelthor). Unholy Sanctuary makes it that whenever you use Sand Shroud you begin healing, which is nice. Feel free to swap in a more defensive rune choice if that is your preference, at the loss of ~10% damage. Soulbeast. Plus, having one large Shade means that it makes it really easy to have the full benefits of the minor traits Blood as Sand and Sand Sage. Guardian. Spam unload or sword on mooks, mix in mercy for a ton of initiative on bosses, change signets for useful utilities. Hope you’ll like it. Wild Blow I will sometimes swap out for a physical skill like Bull’s Rush. I also have one strength trait lets me throw weakness on enemies I hit with CC which then augments my defense trait that makes me do 7% increased damage against weakened enemies. Imminent Threat is a nice way to grab extra attention and adrenaline to make better use of Full Counter too. For runes, you can go either Berserker Runes, Nightmare + Trapper’s combo, or even Renegade Runes. You build up Life Force from kills and abilities, like core Necromancer and Reaper, but you spend it on Shade skills instead of using it as an alternate health bar. Power Reaper. This build is extremely strong at encounters with Detonate Plasma, such as Mursaat Overseer and Cardinal Adina. Meteor Shower. Gives 100% crit in shroud, 25x might, fast life force. Fight in shroud as much as possible, use axe 2, wh 5, GS 3, and heal to build lifeforce quickly, 2x utility to add what you need: stun break or shadow beast for more LF. Hunter’s Shot gives you Swiftness of the same duration. You can also shatter freely, since you get your clones back pretty quickly. You can also use Epidemic and THEN Shroud 4, so all targets afflicted by epidemic (1200 range) will also be inflicted with fear, and thus an additional 6k damage and in unlikely situations, be able to fear up to 17 targets at once; epidemic (5) + self (3) + 3 shades (9), Soulbeast [Longbow][Greatsword] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). 3rd: At least 350 healing power. The Staff Ambush skill gives 3 might to allies that are ‘hit’ by the orb, including yourself. Berserker gear (one or two Marauder if needed and some precise infusions). Overview. Spellbreaker [Axe/Dagger][Dagger/Axe] (Boelthor). A-Tier - These are the top-rated builds available for solo adventures - they are durable and powerful. The armor is sinister, since in shorter fights sinister is better, while in longer ones with Master of Misdirection giving you 33%, you will cap out confusion duration with just 3 boons on you. You can project a stationary Sand Shade into the world at a target location, and whenever you use a Shade ability, you cause a strike of damage – or several pulses of damage – around both you and your Sand Shade, as well as other effects. Discipline: This is mainly for Warrior’s Sprint, Fast Hands, and (surprisingly) Brawler’s Recovery. Cast Radiant Arc again before you drop below 100 Heat. I like Hammer, but Rifle is bearable for ranged due to Gun Flame and Blood Reckoning. Like the Deadeye, you only need one Torch/Sigil of Smoldering. You should be able to generate more than enough Life Force to sustain a rotation with several Shade ability casts, and still have plenty to activate Desert Shroud on cooldown. Tried it on TD, got 16k-17k, which in open world with random/non-existent boons is pretty high. This build is highly self-sufficient, with great Fury and Might uptime, 100% crit chance, and both passive and active defense available in and out of rotation. Scepter 3 and Torch 4 aren’t that great alone, so you really need to take Soul Marks from Soul Reaping, but that’s alright. It has strong CC and good mobility, and provides a good amount of AoE Might and Vulnerability. Really think this is the most versatile OW mirage build you can think of, it has good damage, tons of evade frames and surprisingly good cleave. I anticipate nerfs down the line, so I will be keeping a close eye on it as balance changes over time. Then of course you have Staff 4 for AoE fear. As soon as your staff 2 comes off CD you can shatter your old clones and spawn new ones with the same combo, staff 2 > jaunt > dodge and repeat. Today we cover the power variant of the Guardian, do we take a look at the Dragon Hunter. Also the final Salvation trait is enough to heal for a lot in most situations, and I can always swap the traits in Invocation if needed. This build hits harder, CC’s like a truck, and has a lot of flexibility. Weaver. Sword/Pistol on swap gives you cleave and safety, and it is equally fun to run around spamming Quickness-enhanced Pistol Whips. Might Makes Right synergizes well with Forceful Greatsword, but also with Magebane Tether. Best Class for Solo PVE Play Ranger. Heal Firebrand. Event builds are builds that focus on AoE damage, sustain, and support. Holosmith [Sword/Shield] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). The build I’m talking about is the Power Dragonhunter Build. This is equivalent to 400 health per second, as Might Makes Right looks at how many stacks are being applied. It has great burst options and deals high consistent damage while providing medium defiance bar damage and. Assassin’s gear is technically better for open world content if you’ve got it, but not worth the trouble if you don’t. Earth 2 damages and evades, earth 3 is straight up damage (you cannot move during earth 3, be careful). Dragonhunter is a heavy burst damage power DPS that excels in short fights (such as fractals) and raid encounters with short damage windows. ?” skill so that’s nice. Herald [Hammer][Sword/Shield] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). Here's a link to the build: Berserker’s Power is still king in the Grandmaster slot. Pretty great for killing masses of mobs. Damage – Fire, Earth, and Air (duel fire/air). Berserker. The build works around longbow's relatively long range and fast, bouncing projectiles. If like to add here that dragon hunter is the most beginner friendly, core guard is in between, firebrand is the most complex. Summary: Lots of might while in fire, good condi damage and not-insignificant power damage, ability to withdraw from a fight at will and either heal and then re-engage or run away. Life Force generation is kind of annoying. You have to adjust the way you play, because you lack the second health bar, but you gain significant damage and the best condition cleansing in the game. I use the Fractal DH build on qT with some tweaks: Sub Radiance out for Virtues (1-2-3 for traits) Change Zeal from 2-2-3 to 1-2-3. The choice to emphasize two Physical skills was because this build lacks reliable CC otherwise, and being fully melee, it appreciates being able to interrupt and knock down dangerous enemies. I like the final Renegade pick for being able to continuously keep 10 might ready out of combat since the stacks never drop. If you want more defense in this build, swap in some of the bottom traits as needed. Scepter/Torch is for single targets, Dagger/Warhorn is for crowds. Berserker: Top trait line is for damage, bottom is for sustain. In practice, Deadeye’s Rifle is one of the strongest ranged weapons in the game in sustained DPS, and offers unique combat strategies that were previously unexplored. If things get tough try to incorporate Jaunt and mirrors into the combo, for example, after the first combo and before shattering your clones in the second combo, you can use False Oasis or Crystal Sands to spawn a mirror, jump into it with Jaunt (and proccing Mirage Cloak and therefor Infinite Horizon and then shatter. 4th: Anything else into a stat of your choice. Spectral Wall, if positioned correctly, can force mobs into corners, making them repeatedly fear themselves for the duration. Meta Builds. This build can take Dagger for better sustained DPS or Sword for slightly better burst DPS. I’ve never had 7 different conditions on me at any time in open world, so it’s safe to call this a full reset button, because it also restores a whopping 60% of the warrior’s health. I run 900. If used correctly, you should have more than enough tools to break a bar. I usually start in Fire/Earth, then go Air->Earth->Fire->repeat. The only thing this build is really weak to is condition pressure, which isn’t that common in the open world. I suppose you could change Sand Savant for Demonic Lore if you want more DPS, but it makes it more complicated since you have to manage three shades instead of one. If an arrow hits a second target, all enemies struck are crippled. From Guild Wars 2 Wiki. If you target something tankier, you can easily apply 10k dps worth of condis on them before using Epidemic. It’s very similar to the power Rev build used in PVP. Power Soulbeast is bursty power build that also carries a fair amount of CC. Eruption when in Earth or when swapping out of Earth. Mirage – Shatterspam [Axe/Torch][Axe/Pistol], [PvE] Open World Builds – Updated for Path of Fire, Looking for strong open world builds for all classes. X is for the 10%. Similar to the build above but focusing on getting clones as fast as possible and shattering every time you have 3 available. Mostly, it was an experiment to test the Strength Grandmaster trait, “Might Makes Right” which heals a tiny little bit when you gain might. Use axe for ranged and GS for fun. DM gives more health and attack to your minions, while taking conditions on you back on the enemy thanks to Necromantic Corruption. Fields – Water 2 gives a water field, Fire 2 and Fire 4 give fire fields. Hop into Forge, spam skills, drop out of Forge and use Sword/Exceeds/Toolbelts, then back into Forge. Unfortunately, ele lacks good low cooldown utilities. Earth/Fire – Duel attack is a very strong defensive ability, providing bits of barrier over time while also applying short burns. On the other hand, if you're adventuring alone in the open world, you will need a little more survivability, since you won't have designated healers or tanks. This is a pretty generalist Scourge build. Full dire faceroll. Remember to close the book before enemies die to proc Renewed Justice, letting you do this again and again and again. BM gives Vampiric presence, which is good support for you, your minions, and allies. Even against single mobs (say a Veteran), it’s surprisingly wimpy feeling. After you leave Photon Forge, immediately cast Radiant Arc and begin autoattacking. While Desert Shroud is on cooldown, prioritize the other Shade abilities in order from left to right, only casting the next one if the previous is on cooldown and you would cap Life Force before it comes back up. Most of the time, you’ll want to stay merged with a Tiger – or any Ferocious pet of choice – and cast utility and Beast skills to maintain boons. Axes are also a lark, and of course you can go Mace/Shield for raid practice, or Sword/Warhorn if you absolutely must get from point A to point B. Use Primordial Stance (second utility R on my build) while single or double attuned to fire for more damage. As you can see its still very powerfull even after the balance changes. Be aware of its fragility and use its extreme damage output aggressively, especially against dangerous ranged enemies. What this build lacks is CC and condi cleanse. Dragonhunter's biggest weakness is … You'll want to be rotating through LB, Mace/Focus (for survive), GS, Sword/Shield(for party survive and zerging those respawning mendors). I’ve chosen Axe over mainhand Dagger because Axe does more damage, and has a more impactful grandmaster trait in Discipline. Pretty nice burst for condi, a lot of cleave, with the tiny pink axes from your clones flying everywhere, and its sustain isn’t as bad as I thought. Axe/Dagger and Dagger/Axe seems to mix the goodness of Axe/Axe with the benefits of Sun and Moon Style. Guides. Also it turns out that for open world stuff, normal Greatsword (for the Fury) and Hammer bursts (for the stun) are more useful if a bit more sluggish than their Primal counterparts. It is excellent at roaming with its high area burst damage and innate survivability while also being the best specialization option for tagging on guardian due to its access to longbow. Facetank through all PvE content cause you have 21k HP and 3.2k armor, no skill required. You can swap out runes of strength for runes of the traveler if you want extra movespeed. It is pretty survivable while dealing a lot of damage. Against champions or bosses you generally just want to break their bars as soon as they are up so you can get more damage in, as well as get a few seconds in for your cooldowns to come back. Water 2 is extremely strong – when you need to retreat, use it and sit in the water field for several seconds, either blasting it or just waiting/doing other stuff. It’s not as bombastic as Berserker, but it’s pretty fun and you can pump out a huge hurt by Raptor Leaping into groups to glom them up and chaining Burst > Full Counter > Burst > Swap > Burst. Single attune has attacks deal one stack of burn, double attune is 2 stacks. Accessories are any combination of toughness, vitality, condi damage and healing power. Let’s move on to End Game Builds for the Guardian. Change Dragonhunter from 1-2-3 to 1-1-3. Aristocracy Runes could be interesting. In this guide, we're going to look at all nine Guild Wars 2 classes and the specialization trees that they have at their disposal. Greatsword/X: You will be using your Greatsword 90% of the time. Then have I got a build for you! Was reeeeeeeally fun in open world, putting 20-ish burns on all mobs with Incendiary Ammo and Photon blitz was absolutely gorgeous, even if they only last for 2 seconds. Lava Font. My setup: [Click for link]. Attacker’s Insight procs on all CC you use on enemies. Basically it’s just great at being alone. Longbow Farmer is a highly specialized build meant to give Guardian a viable way to Tagenemies in events such as Specimen Chamber or the Lake Doric Leather Farm. Use Holo Leap, Holographic Shockwave, then Holo Leap again to quickly build Heat from 0. 2k condi damage. Discretize is a high-end Guild Wars 2 fractal guild. Try to drop new Shades before each Desert Shroud cast. Almost like a brand-new class, Holosmith has dramatically changed power Engineer. Builds. Use LB 2 + 5 to engage, then weapon swap on CD, use LB 2 and warhorn 4 2x each; use heal after wep swap to double quickness. Mirage – Shatterspam [Axe/Torch][Axe/Pistol] (Danashj). Spear of Justice’s cooldown is refreshed every time you kill any mob. The balance changes to Radiance emphasize Retaliation as a very important boon, so an extra utility skill that applies Retaliation is desirable. Water/Air is only worth using if you have nothing else to press. Event Builds can often function alone, but always do better with allies to support them. Weapon sigils are Accuracy and Smoldering, Variation: Tahlkora/Shaman armor (Vitality main, minor healing power and condition damage). Since the F1 can hit from both you and the shade, you want to fight inside it when possible. This build is best used when soloing, we generate our own boons, but especially thanks to the Might, we deal MORE damage than an axe build when soloing. It gets better the more targets you cleave, and helps keep the warrior’s massive health pool topped off. Water/Earth is a really nice 600 range bleed application, plus a decent amount of power damage. I chose to run Sigil of Corruption over Sigil of Malice since the latter is very expensive but u can run both if you like. Burst can be done with either weapon. Fire/Air is a decent damage ability. Firebrand [Axe/Torch][Scepter/Torch] (trondonopoles). Pyroclastic Blast, Fire/Earth dual skill. Combined with Sun and Moon Style, this makes Axe/Dagger provide plenty of health sustain. Natural Healing is one of the greatest heal skills for open world, especially in a build that already has so much sustain. This build is pretty much full glass. It will require a fast playstyle. Plenty of CC and passive healing to remain in the middle of a brawl if you like. The goal was to make sword/dagger as easy to manage as possible. Spellbreaker [Dagger/Dagger][Mace/Shield] (Trumpet_bear). It is amazing to run around open world, Marking everything one at a time, and blasting it to pieces with Quickness-enhanced bullets. Get in Photon Forge and stay in Photon Forge as long as you can, up to 130-149 Heat. So the point of this build is to stand inside your clone’s line of fire to gain that might for yourself when they fire off the ambush skill. Rinse and repeat. Reaper [Axe/Warhorn] [Greatsword] (hiberbeam). Also, Carrion is a good cheaper/tankier alternative to Sinister. Some people shy away from it because it drops your boons, but you can quickly regain Might and Fury, and it strips off up to 7 conditions before healing. It turns out that Sword is a pretty weak weapon in a power build. Eviscerate also applies 5 stacks of Might for 665 health. I enjoyed using Winds of Disenchantment for a couple hours then stowed it away for another day. Radiant Dragonhunter is a versatile power build which performs well in most areas of open world. If you are interested in solo stuff, you should check out this build. Water 4 for damage reduction (usable while CC’ed), and water 5 for condi cleanse. Do this even if you’re not actively fighting mobs, so that you’re always prepared to face the next mob. Dragonhunter is good and easy to play build for fractals. Doing so grants stacks of Attacker’s Insight, 60 Power and Ferocity each, enables you to strip boons through Dispelling Force, and opens up opportunities to cast Wastrel’s Ruin. Also because that gear is all about butts, twice. Mesmer [Greatsword][Sword/Sword] (Gayest_Charr_Ever). Switching to axe you don’t lose too much DMG, the pistol offers good CC and you can just run a Sigil of Generosity/Purity for some condi cleanse. This build has good cleave since staff autos bounce between enemies, ambush skill passes through them, and your shatters hit in an AoE. For sustained DPS, decide where you will be fighting. At range, start with Swords and summon a Swordsman; cast Signet of the Ether and summon another Swordsman; then swap to Greatsword and summon a Berserker. Cast abilities that restore Life Force, as well as Dagger autoattacks, and spend Life Force on Shade abilities if you are about to overfill your Life Force. Strength: Forceful Greatsword is a lock, and is maybe the strongest trait in GW2. These damage strikes are easily added to weapon and utility skill abilities, because every Shade ability is instant cast.
